About me

Hello!

My name is Patrick, and since 2012, I've worked at RSPCA NSW as a graphic designer and photographer. In that time, I've photographed hundreds of animals as they wait to find their forever homes. To help reduce the wait, I spread the word by posting photos and stories to my blog, Portraits of an Animal Shelter.

At home, I live with my beautiful wife, Belinda, along with our three fur-children, Lucy, Moose and Penny. All three were adopted from the RSPCA and they're all incredibly special in their own ways.

From the day I was born, I was always surrounded by pets, so it was no surprise that I developed a love of animals from an early age. As I grew older, my dream was to either work with animals or pursue a creative career. Given that I'm not so academically gifted, becoming a vet was out of the question. So I settled on my next passion: graphic design.

When I was offered my job at the RSPCA, I couldn't believe my luck! This was my chance to use my skills in design and photography to pursue my dream of working with animals. I accepted the job without a second thought and I've never looked back.

As it turns out, I love what I do so much that I can't get enough of it! So now I moonlight on weekends as a pet photographer. This is where you come in! Be sure to check out my work, and if you like what you see, I'd love to hear from you.
